Settings Goals

At Day by Day Early Intervention, we set goals together with families. This helps ensure therapy is meaningful, achievable and connected to the everyday routines that matter most to your child.

Creating Meaningful Goals Together

At Day by Day Early Intervention, setting goals is a collaborative process. We work closely with families to understand what matters most to you and your child whether it’s communication, play, motor skills, self-care, or emotional regulation.

Our therapists support you to identify strengths, priorities and everyday routines where meaningful change can happen.

Family-Led, Strengths-Based Goal Setting

We believe families should feel empowered and included at every step. Goals are shaped around:

    • your child’s unique strengths

    • your family’s priorities and values

    • everyday routines at home, childcare, school and community settings

    • what helps your child feel safe, confident and motivated

We use child-led, relationship-based approaches so goals feel realistic, supportive and developmentally appropriate.

Turning Big Hopes Into Achievable Steps

Sometimes goals can feel overwhelming. We help break them into small, practical steps that fit into your daily life. Whether you’re focusing on early communication, independence, sensory processing, or social-emotional skills, we create a clear roadmap that guides therapy sessions and home strategies.

Reviewing Progress and Adjusting Goals Together

Children grow and change quickly — so should their goals. We regularly check in with you, celebrate progress, and adjust goals when needed to ensure therapy remains meaningful and aligned with your child’s development.

Working With Your Child’s Whole Team

We can also collaborate with teachers, support coordinators, carers, and other health professionals to make sure everyone is working toward the same goals. This creates consistent support across home, school and community environments.
